What Customers Are Saying About Erenberg Tarot

In a reimagined interpretation of the Original Rider–Waite® Tarot deck, artist Steve Erenberg has embraced an "up close and personal" approach in creating the Erenberg Tarot. Departing from the traditional "scene" depiction for each card, Erenberg fills each frame with a bold illustrative style. This unique approach zooms in on details often overlooked in a more traditional composition, enabling readers to uncover clearer and more direct meanings in their readings.

While bold and direct, the Erenberg Tarot is also imbued with colorful whimsy, inviting you to step into the pages of a captivating fairy tale. The card names and numbers are elegantly set in a hand-drawn type reminiscent of a child's storybook. When placed side-by-side, the cards effortlessly weave a story that you'll want to read and interpret.

Although the guidebook is somewhat light on meanings, interpretations, and spreads, the cards don't particularly need much explaining. Erenberg has done a tremendous job in creating images that are not only joyful and beautiful but also clear and direct.

Overall, the Erenberg Tarot would be a wonderful addition to any Tarot enthusiast's collection, standing out from the traditional with a whimsical edge.

Clever and vibrant—an exciting fresh take on the traditional Raider Waite Smith. My first thought when I opened the box and went through the cards was "David Palladini meets Morgan Greer". I love how Erenberg nodded to the tradition established by those tarot moguls while making an original statement with his innovative twist and shift of perspective. It reads like a dream!

The Erenberg Tarot by Steve Erenberg , now out from U.S. Games Systems, has been my OBSESSION the last few weeks! Steve Erenberg masterfully reimagines the classic RWS imagery by providing a purposeful zoom-in on the imagery. This gives the feeling that the characters in the deck have come to life and are looking outward toward me, rather than having the reader be on the outside looking in. This deck was instantly a reliable, interesting reader for me! I can’t wait to share more in my next New Deck Test Pilot video!

This deck is awesome in so many ways. It’s so interesting to think about the choices made in this deck regarding which symbols and colors from the original RWS deck would be included and which symbols would be removed or where he would add new symbols altogether. I love the way some of the characters feel like they are trying to escape or infiltrate the border. The pencil shading gives the cards a softness that feels inviting and looks great in spreads. It has a neutral energy, and it works for just about any type of reading. This one is going to be a classic.

This is a great deck if you prefer simplicity in your cards.  The author did a great job in capturing just the key symbols and elements from the Rider Waite Smith System on each card.  The result is a simple, nice and clean deck without any 'distractions' on each card and a very readable and easy to interpret deck.  The cardstock is great to shuffle and comes with a nice guidebook.  This deck also reminds me of the classic Aquarian Tarot, so if you are a fan of that deck and looking for a new, upgraded deck that is similar in style, you may want to check this deck out and give it a try!

This deck is so much fun to me. It's like someone went to every card with a Polaroid and snapped a close-up picture of an element in the card. I love the star card, too. There is just something about this artwork that makes you want to dive in and learn more about what the cards have to say. I'm excited to work with this deck more!

It was love at first sight for me when I first saw this deck being previewed by Christa Chronicles on YT about a month ago. I hit the "pre-order" button on my Amazon account even before the video was finished. Fast forward to today when I received it. Steve Erenberg's take on the classic RWS is simply captivating for me. The beautifully rendered eyes and exquisitely posed hands draw me in. I feel that the unique POV prevents me from being overwhelmed by too many details and helps me focus on what's important. I also love Steve's introduction on the LWB. It prompted me to look up US Games' founder, Stuart Kaplan and his immense contribution to the art of tarot. PS: There are many who are being put off by the Tower card on this deck because it's the one card that didn't follow the POV of the rest of the deck. As per Steve Erenberg, this was a choice he made as it depicts "a disaster he didn't want to get close to".

Magic and intuition intertwine with the mesmerizing Erenberg Tarot. From the very first glimpse of this enchanting creation, I felt a powerful connection that resonated deep within my soul. The allure of the cards lies not only in their exquisite design but also in the profound perspectives they offer, each card brimming with potent messages that speak directly to the heart and spirit. What sets the Erenburg Tarot apart is its masterful use of pastel coloring, which not only enhances the visual appeal of the cards but also infuses them with a sense of magic and whimsy. The delicate hues create a harmonious backdrop for the striking imagery, striking a perfect balance between softness and strength. Each card tells a story, weaving a tapestry of symbols & archetypes that invite you to explore the depths of your subconscious while unlocking those hidden truths. In a world where soft meets strong, and magic dances with intuition, the Erenburg Tarot is a beacon of beauty & enlightenment, offering a pathway to self-discovery and spiritual growth. This deck is an absolute yes from me. Will you pickup this extraordinary deck and embark on a journey of transformation and empowerment?

This deck is very unique, and while it does follow the RWS system closely I do not feel like it's great as a beginner deck right off the bat. It seems like a deck more suited for the reader who already knows a bit about the RWS system. I did enjoy the introduction in this deck where Steve talked about his vision for this up close style. Though I was disappointed that the reason for each up close section isn't actually discussed in any way in any of the book description. Which threw me off quite a bit trying to intuitively read my cards. I do think this up close style for sure shows a more focused view while doing readings and if you are a seasoned reader the interpretation can take a whole different aspect on because it hones in on one specific look of each card. Like zeroing in on a specific idea, theme, etc which can lend a huge bonus to reading for self and others. I did like that the cards were matte and not glossy.  With my small hands I was able to shuffle and it shuffles nicely. I feel like this deck is a great homage to the RWS as well as the founder of US Games. It's a deck that brings on different aspects a reader might not have considered before. And if that's something you enjoy as a reader, pick up the devk and give it a try. The art is well done and the card descriptions while very RWS style gives a little different outlook too.

Erenberg and the late Stuart Kaplan, founder of @USGamesInc were longtime close friends who had traveled the world together. After Kaplan's passing, Erenberg was inspired to take a closer look at the tarot, one of his late friend's great loves, and create his own take on Pamela Colman Smith's iconic illustrations.

This deck has a vintage poster art style to it, either intentionally or unintentionally evocative of Napoleonic Europe.

The zoomed in perspective draws you in. Picturesque with venerable nods to European history, there's a pastoral charm and simplicity here that will appeal strongly to the old-fashioned classical card reader.

The Erenberg Tarot immediately intrigued me. I love the whole concept of this deck. Artist and Creator Steve Erenberg created a different perspective in this outstanding deck. Although this art was inspired by the Rider Waite Smith Tarot this refreshing perspective allows the reader and querent to view the cards as if they are looking back at them inviting them into their personal stories. The readings were very concise and clear with this deck and the layouts were actually quite beautiful as well. The box is compact and doesn't take up much room on my shelves, which is always a plus in my book. The cardstock is smooth and not too shiny. It shuffles well and doesn't stick. It is your basic tarot size which is nice for smaller hands like myself. The true selling point for me was this artwork and its up-close perspective. I do not think this is the best deck for beginners because of its closeness, however for those that know the meanings it is so easy to see the meanings in them. This deck is definitely a keeper and I highly recommend to anyone who likes to explore different vistas within the tarot structure.
