TAROT ARNOUX & AMPHOUX
Marseille 1801, France

This Limited Edition facsimile tarot deck, with only 1500 copies issued, is one of the rare, completely preserved ancient tarots that were originally created and printed in Marseille in the early 1800s. The French master card makers Arnoux and Amphoux crafted one of the rarest Marseille tarot decks still in existence today. Very well preserved, with its uncluttered graphics and vibrant colors, this original tarot deck possesses a modern aspect, prefiguring the Cubism style, which appeared a century later, at the beginning of the 20th century.

The Arnoux & Amphoux deck includes 78 cards plus two cards explaining the historical background, one in French and one English.

What Customers Are Saying About Tarot Arnoux & Amphoux 1801

Tarot Arnoux & Amphoux 1801 is a stunning reproduction of one of the rarest and most complete tarot decks in history. While many illuminated decks from Milan in the early 1400s were primarily used for gaming, the creation of Tarot Arnoux & Amphoux 1801 was dedicated to the practice of divination. Crafted in 1801 by master card makers J.H. Arnoux and A.E. Amphoux in Marseilles, France, this deck's history is as rich and vibrant as the images on the cards. The deck includes all 78 cards, along with two informational cards detailing more about the deck's history in both French and English. Unfortunately, there is no accompanying guidebook; however, that only adds to the mystique of this deck. This reproduction, designed by Yves Renaud, is quite rare and only available in an edition of 1500. If you have ever been curious about the tarot's earliest uses as a tool for guidance and clarity, I highly recommend grabbing one of the limited remaining copies of Tarot Arnoux & Amphoux 1801.
