Welcome to the 2014 Solstice Tarot Blog Hop. Our wrangler for this hop is Olivia from First Earth Tarot. She’s challenged us with this question/theme:

For this blog hop, the theme is: joy. What are you joyful about? What brings light to your heart? How do you spread joy to others?

We like to think that we spread joy is many ways–from new Tarot decks to gorgeous oracle decks to lovely Lenormand decks. But did you know we also have games? Check out our 1864 poker deck or the immensely popular, not to mention award-winning, Wizard(r) card game.

Gilded Reverie Lenormand

Some recent offerings that are bringing joy to us are these Lenormand decks:

Then there are these Tarot decks.

And we can’t forget the Oracle decks:

In our very joyful Joie de Vivre Tarot, we shared a spread we called Spreading The Joy. You can find it in the Little White Book for that deck. Did you know that you can find the LWB for many of our decks online? Just go to our home page, search for your deck, then look for the PDF link on that deck’s page.

So tell us which of these decks mentioned here bring you the most joy. We’d love to hear from you. And we have so many new products that we may have inadvertently forgotten one! So our apologies if we did. If you let us know, we will include it on this joyful roundup.

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards: Focus On The Cards part 3 of 3

In Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Oracle, there are a total of  cards with 182 of those being the symbols that you might see if you sat down with your own cup of tea leaves. Rae went through the exhaustive process of culling over 500 images down to 182 to make this deck manageable.

For the past two days, you have seen the back of the Tea Leaf cards as well as the bowl, the butterfly, the wheel, the ladder, the needle and thread. Now here are the last three that we are highlighting.

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards – Months

In Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Oracle, one of the three groups are the twelve months. This is to help you determine timing for some of the layouts. You can lay out the months and then the cards to see what will occur in a given month.

Five New Decks

Cat_CoverCV_coverJdV_CoverTea_coverWWO_cover

U.S. Games is happy to announce the release of three new Tarot decks plus two new oracle decks for your holiday happiness.

Cat_2Cups

The Cat's Eye Tarot by Debra M. Givin, DVM, is an unusual deck in that the author and artist is also a feline-focused veterinarian. The card meanings and numbering follow Rider-Waite interpretations, with reptiles, fish, birds, and mice replacing the usual suit symbols. Even the newcomer to tarot will be able to relate to these delightful images of cats and learn valuable lessons from them.

CV_4Swords

Then we have Jennifer Galasso's Crystal Visions Tarot. It combines her love of crystal balls with a nod to a famous rock-and-roll singer. The luscious card imagery also illustrates the elemental aspects of each suit in order to aid the novice in forming associations with the cards.

JdV_3Wands

Joie de Vivre Tarot is the latest from Paulina Cassidy. It features her trademark fantastical creatures and eye for detail. Those who take a journey through this wondrous realm will rediscover their own child-like spirit.

And don't miss our latest oracle card decks!

WWO_Primrose

The Woodland Wisdom Oracle deck by Rev. Frances Munro features artwork by the talented Fantasy artist Peter Pracownik. Elves and fairies share their Woodland Wisdom to help you move your life forward in positive ways.

Tea_Ladder

Last but certainly not least is the Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Fortune Cards. Rae Hepburn, an accomplished tea leaf reader, teaches you to unlock the ancient secrets of reading tea leaves. Follow a few simple guidelines, and you can immediately read your fortune.

Here are some recent reviews and interviews. If you have reviewed any of these, please send that link to Stella at US Games. We would love to feature that here and on our Facebook page and our Twitter feed.

So which ones do you want? Leave a comment. We want to hear from  you.

Help Kris Waldherr Pick Five Animals!

SW Cover Kris Waldherr, creator for the Goddess Tarot and Lover's Path Tarot, is almost finished with the Sacred World Oracle, a deck that will be published by U.S. Games Systems.

But Kris needs your help.

You see, she wants to add five more sacred animals to her deck. In her latest Newsletter, Kris writes:

Whale Autumn is the time of harvest, of bringing long-aborning projects toward fruition. Big news: I'm closing in on finishing The Sacred World Oracle, with just five cards left to illustrate. I also have a first draft of the booklet roughed out. Fortunately, the design has been finalized. Woo hoo!

I'm thrilled that U.S. Games Systems will be publishing the SWO; they're also the publisher of my Goddess Tarot and Lover's Path Tarot. If the planets align as hoped, the deck will be available in mid-2011. I'll keep you updated as production progresses.

Can't wait to take the Sacred World Oracle for a test run?  Besides the free reading available at the official Sacred World Oracle site, the SWO is also featured at TarotGoddess.com, a site I designed devoted to all things tarot.

With five cards left to illustrate, I thought it would be fun to get your feedback: What other sacred animals should I include?

The decks is divided into quadrants, each devoted to the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. I'd like to add another card to the quadrants of earth, air, and fire; two cards to water. Here's what I have so far:

Phoenix Bat
Bluebird
Butterfly
Dove
Dragonfly
Owl
Peacock
Raven
Spider
Bear
Bull
Cat
Dog
Fox
Lion
Rabbit
Ram
Snake
Carp
Crab
Bat Dolphin
Frog
Salmon
Swan
Turtle
Whale
Centaur
Chimera
Dragon
Falcon
Firebird
Horse
Phoenix
Salamander
Scorpion

I invite you to send your card suggestions to kris [at] kriswaldherr dot com. If I use your suggestion, I'll send you a copy of the Sacred World Oracle when it's published. (In the case of two or more people sending in the same suggestion, a drawing will be held.)

Need to refresh your memory? You can view the SWO art so far here.

Aren't the images from Kris's upcoming Sacred World Oracle gorgeous? I have a few animals in mind that I might pass along to Kris, myself!

You can subscribe to Kris's free newsletter here. You can visit Kris Waldherr online at ArtandWords.com.
