Tea Leaf Fortune Cards: Focus On The Cards part 3 of 3

In Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Oracle, there are a total of  cards with 182 of those being the symbols that you might see if you sat down with your own cup of tea leaves. Rae went through the exhaustive process of culling over 500 images down to 182 to make this deck manageable.

For the past two days, you have seen the back of the Tea Leaf cards as well as the bowl, the butterfly, the wheel, the ladder, the needle and thread. Now here are the last three that we are highlighting.

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards – Months

In Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Oracle, one of the three groups are the twelve months. This is to help you determine timing for some of the layouts. You can lay out the months and then the cards to see what will occur in a given month.

Do you use any specific sequence to determine the timing of your readings? What do you think of this oracle's use of timing in this way?

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards – Astral Houses

Rae Hepburn's Tea Leaf Fortune cards have three distinct groups. Today we will take a look at the Astral houses.

There are six general astral houses. For the pyramid reading, you would choose one of these six cards to be the focus. In Rae's video demonstration, you can look at the cards to choose yours or you can draw them without looking. The artist is Shawna Alexander who has captured beautiful details for the Tea Leaf cards and images that are evocative for the astral houses. The six houses are:  Love, Career,  Marriage, Happiness, Success, and Wealth.  The back of each of the three groups is differentiated by color and the Astral and Seasons have that as the label on theirs.

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards’ creator Rae Hepburn

U.S. Games Systems, Inc author, Rae Hepburn is interviewed and shown doing her pyramid reading with her Tea Leaf Fortune cards.

Excerpted from Clay McGlaughlin's article printed in The Times-Standard.

In a traditional tea leaf reading, the subject prepares and drinks a cup of loose-leaf tea while reflecting on their questions or problems. Through this process their energy is thought to influence the swirling leaves, and when the liquid is gone the tasseographer interprets images left in the dregs of the cup to search for clues about the future. While the act of brewing, preparing and drinking tea can be pleasant in and of itself, Eureka-based author and tasseographer Rae Hepburn has developed a quicker, easier method for those who lack the time, patience or facilities for a proper brew-up.

Born in the north of England, Hepburn is the creator of “Tea Leaf Fortune Cards,” an illustrated set of circular cards representing nearly 200 symbols that combine elements from the 600-plus symbols that tasseographers regularly use. Hepburn combined symbols with similar meanings to bring the number to a reasonable figure for a portable set.

#Tarot Game: What Book Is This?

Agent Reader has done it again! She had a client who wanted to do a reading. During the reading the client mentioned a book she thought Agent Reader would enjoy but of course, Agent Reader forgot to write down the title. HELP!

Here's what she knows.

SunMoonDeath
Death figures heavily in this book. The hero seems to be a time-traveler at times. He's definitely the King and Knight of Swords although he starts out as the Page of Swords.

Cats_Wands8SunMoon8Swords
The Eight of Wands figures heavily in this story but the Eight of swords shows up as well as Justice Rx.

Crystal_Cups2

The end of the book was a Six of Swords with a Twp of Cups twist.

What was this book that also was made into a movie?

An Interview with the Cat’s Eye Tarot by Tarot Notes

Cats_EmperorWhat happens when cats interview the Cat's Eye Tarot? Read Tarot Notes to find out.

Here's a small excerpt.

As their servant, I naturally agreed to their plan. They elected the lovely Karma (aka Karmalita, Kars, or Karsby) to conduct the interview. They also stated that they would not require my presence during the interview, and that they would arrange for the interview to be transcribed and delivered to me at their convenience.
