I recognized the art by Hannah Elizabeth Fofana immediately here in Familiar Field Oracle. In European folklore, familiars are supernatural entities, traditionally animals, that would assist witches and cunning folk in their practice of magic. The feature of keywords is really great here.

A new animal spirit deck, tarot or oracle, will always pique my interest no matter what, but if the deck comes also with lovely images, vibrant colors, great keywords on the cards, and a streamlined guidebook, working with it will elicit pure joy. If you are an animal lover looking for a good clarifier deck to use with your tarot readings or just a nice stand-alone oracle with good keyworks you may want to check this deck out. This deck includes animals from all walks of life from the sea to the air to the land, there are insects and birds, snake and seahorse. One of the most comprehensive animal decks I have seen! Each card comes with the name of the animal on them along with three excellent keywords on the card itself and also comes with a guidebook for additional reference. The card size is excellent to hold and riffle shuffle and shuffles like a dream. An excellent deck all around!

The gentle way the animals are rendered, combined with the tones and palette, truly feel soothing and comforting. The deck is tarot size with three keywords on each card in addition to the animal name, making them very easy to use and work with. Although each card has three keywords, so they're useable without the book, it does come with a book that provides a little bit more insight into the keywords and why there were chosen for each animal. Finally, and I think the most interesting things about this deck in my opinion, is the fact that they cards are presented in three suits (Earth, Sky, Water) and each suit is assigned a different energy, which offers another layer of understanding during a reading. There are quire a few more crawly things than we would normally see in an animal deck, so if those things are a trigger I would suggest taking a look at a walkthrough before purchasing, but overall this deck feels soothing, comprehensive and extremely useful. I look forward to my work with it for years to come.
